Parks

Day 6 of 30
City parks. City benches. These spaces are a gift to the residents of the city. Today the parks were full. Kids playing catch, socially distanced groups of ladies chatting, seniors sitting on the benches watching people go by, dogs playing fetch….it was such a sweet sight. Parks are a space that are often forgotten while we are rushing to get it all done or get from one place to another. Today I was reminded of a simpler time and for that I am grateful.

Dad

Day 4 of 30
Dad.
My very first guy. 83 years young today. Still strutting down the sidewalk on his own.
The man who taught me to appreciate the weight of a good book in your hands, an effective argument, fine wine, great music and a meal cooked with love. He is a straight shooter who tells it like it is.  He pulls no punches and is often abrasive.
My dad has educated me on the finer (read:most important) things in life.
I appreciate his unfailing and copious tough love. I am grateful that he is in my corner and love him so very much.

Departed

Day 2 of 30
The departed.
I am grateful for those who have gone before me…clearing a path, teaching me lessons to last a lifetime and saving space for me in the afterlife.
Remember all those who have passed away as it is All Souls’ day today.

Gratitude

Gratitude is the best attitude. ~Author Unknown
I practice intentional gratitude as a form of daily reflection in a journal. However, during the month of November I challenge others to do the same. Each day I post one thing that I am grateful for along with a photo. Just one thing each day.
If you join me by posting one thing each day, by Thanksgiving you will have been reminded of 22 reasons you are grateful and by the end of the month you will have 30 reasons you are grateful. I hope you will join me and live an attitude of gratitude this month.
Peace
